Scientific Seminar of the R.G. Biyashev Laboratory of Information Security

On April 1, a regular scientific seminar of the R.G. Biyashev Laboratory of Information Security of the Institute of Information and Computational Technologies under the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held. The event featured a presentation by the foreign scientist M.P. Yavich titled “IoT-Oriented Digital Signature Defense Against Single-Trace Belief Propagation Attacks,” devoted to modern approaches to ensuring the security of digital signatures in Internet of Things systems.

During the presentation, the speaker introduced research results aimed at improving the resistance of cryptographic algorithms to modern types of attacks. The specifics of implementing digital signatures in IoT environments were discussed, and protection methods were proposed, taking into account limited computational resources and energy efficiency requirements of devices.

The seminar also covered current research areas, including data protection in distributed systems, security of embedded devices, and prospects for implementing new cryptographic solutions in practice.

The presentation by M.P. Yavich sparked an active discussion, during which participants exchanged views on the proposed approaches and discussed possibilities for their further development and application.

Participants of the seminar emphasized the importance of such events for expanding scientific collaboration, sharing advanced experience, and establishing new professional contacts. The significant role of international participation in the development of national science and its integration into the global scientific community was also highlighted.
