Press release

As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted at the National Kurultai, Kazakhstan has entered a new era of technological development. One of the priority areas is digitalization and the implementation of artificial intelligence to improve the quality of life of our citizens. Our project directly aligns with these strategic objectives and is aimed at creating a comprehensive digital system that enables the transformation of speech into gestures and text, as well as gestures into text and voice. This will allow millions of Kazakhstanis with hearing and speech impairments to better understand the world around them, receive education, work, and actively participate in social life.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, more than 30,000 people with hearing impairments live in Kazakhstan.

Work on this initiative began in 2021 as part of the Young Scientists project and has continued under the Targeted Scientific and Technical Funding Program for 2024–2026.

The main goal of the project is to create a digital ecosystem that ensures effective communication for people with hearing and speech impairments.

We expect that this technology will not only improve the daily lives of people with hearing impairments but also create new opportunities in education, employment, and social adaptation.

We study the best global practices and collaborate with international experts to introduce the most advanced technologies in Kazakhstan.

As the President noted: “The new era defines which countries will be able to harness technology for their benefit.”

We want technology to work not in the distant future but in the coming years, making the digital environment accessible to everyone.
