The Institute of Information and Computational Technologies (formerly IPIС) was established in September, 1991 for intensive and purposeful development of fundamental and applied research in the field of computer science and control in Kazakhstan and scientific provision of the Republic informatization program.
The Institute employs 155 people, including 2 academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Of the total number of employees of the Institute, 12 have Doctor of Science degrees, 42 have PhD degrees, 19 have Candidate of Science degrees, 43 have Master’s degrees, and 71 are young scientists under the age of 40.

The mission of the institute is informatization of society and implementation of fundamental and applied research in computer science, management and modeling.
