On March 11, 2026, the Institute of Information and Computational Technologies officially opened a new research laboratory dedicated to conducting cryptographic experiments. The laboratory was established at the initiative of the Information Security Laboratory and is intended to support applied research in cryptography as well as experimental testing of software and hardware-based security solutions.
The new facility will enable research on cryptographic algorithms, analysis of digital signature systems, and experimental studies of authentication and verification methods. It will also be used to test hardware and software solutions aimed at ensuring the security of Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Notably, the opening of the laboratory coincided with the birthday of Professor Rustem Gakashevich Biyashev, a distinguished scientist and one of the founders and former heads of the Information Security Laboratory. This symbolic occasion highlights the recognition of his significant contribution to the development of cryptography and information security.
The new laboratory will provide researchers, young scientists, and students with enhanced opportunities to conduct practical research in cryptography and information security. It is expected to contribute to the advancement of national scientific developments and strengthen the country’s cybersecurity capabilities.
